DSWD FO8, through its attached partner agency, the Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC) recently participated in a series of workshops with children to develop the 20th Legislative Agenda of Children (CLAC). Headed by the Policy, Planning and Research Division of the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), the CLAC will serve as the foundation for advocacy efforts in collaboration with key stakeholders in time for the opening of the upcoming Congress.

The 20th CLAC was developed through 3-day regional co-creation sessions across the nation. Here in the Visayas, the activity was conducted last May 2-4, 2025 at Lapu-Lapu City.

RSCWC VIII Regional Coordinator Francis Genell R. Berida, Misericordia Children Center Inc. Child Care Specialist Bavelle K. Ambas, and several children-delegates from Western Visayas, Central Visayas and Eastern Visayas attended the said activity.

During her opening message, RCWC Chairperson and DSWD FO7 Regional Director Shalaine Marie S. Lucero highlighted the importance of consultations like this to ensure that the felt needs of the children are captured and to ensure that their recommendations will be heard and considered.
