The San Roque Green Valley Small Farmers Association continues to reap the benefits of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 8’s Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished (Project LAWA at BINHI), as they strengthen their efforts toward sustainability through new community-led initiatives.
Through the project, the association successfully constructed a deep well water system capable of storing 400 liters of water in two drums, addressing a long-standing need for clean and accessible water in the barangay.
But the group didn’t stop there. Fueled by the initial assistance of P8,100 they received, members of the association collectively contributed P3,000 each to expand Project BINHI by establishing a small poultry farm. This initiative aims to provide additional livelihood and food security for the community.
