A total of 252 tutors under DSWD’s Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program in Ormoc City attended a technical session with the Department of Education (DepEd) on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
The activity aims to address the shared challenges of tutors, improve their teaching practices, and enhance student learning.
Marylyn Tagalog, the Public School District Supervisor (PSDS) of District 9, served as the resource person during the activity at the Schools Division of Ormoc City Training Hall.
Emma Poncadilla, PSDS of District 1, and Gina Aligway, the school head of Punta Elementary School, were also present to provide technical assistance.
For the 2025 implementation of the program, DSWD will cover a total of 1,260 incoming Grade 2 pupils in Ormoc City.
The ongoing Tara, Basa! learning sessions is set until June 13, 2025.
