DSWD Eastern Visayas continues its relief operations from its center of operations in Catarman, Northern Samar to the municipalities affected by typhoon Bising in the province. Said operations are headed by Social Welfare and Development Team (SWADT) Leader Nena Getalado.
With help from affected Local Government Units (LGUs) and other partners such as the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), DSWD was able to release 806 Family Food Packs (FFPs) for San Roque, 800 for Catubig, 1,000 for Catarman, 1,500 for Palapag, 664 for Pambujan and 1,895 for Laoang. On the other hand, DSWD continues to transport Family Food Packs (FFPs) from its regional warehouse in Palo, Leyte, and from prepositioned stockpiles in Allen and Catarman.
As of May 01, DSWD has already issued a total of 14,172 FFPs equivalent to P7,708,575.96.00 regionwide. Of this number, 6,665 FFPs were released to Northern Samar, 6,807 to Eastern Samar, and 700 in Samar.
