DSWD Eastern Visayas concludes its relief operations for typhoon Bising. As of June 02, the agency has released a total of 16,847 Family Food Packs (FFPs) to 15 municipalities who requested augmentation from the agency.
DSWD has released 8,230 FFPs for the province of Eastern Samar (2,500 for Arteche, 307 for Hernani, 2,000 for Jipapad, 923 for Can-avid, and 2,500 for Oras), 1,232 for the province of Samar (700 for San Sebastian, 32 for Paranas, and 500 for Zumarraga), and 7,385 for the province of Northern Samar (806 for San Roque, 1,500 for Catubig, 1,000 for Catarman, 1,500 for Palapag, 664 for Pambujan, 1,895 for Laoang, and 20 for Mapanas). Out of this number, 16,671 have already been distributed by the Local Government Units.
Over-all, DSWD and the LGUs have distributed assistance worth P9,067,857.03 to the beneficiaries.
Currently, DSWD Eastern Visayas is continuously gathering reports from municipalities affected by the recent typhoon Dante, which caused flooding in some parts of the region.
