Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rolando Joselito D. Bautista commended Field Office 8 for the successful delivery and completion of the Social Amelioration Program in the region.
In his message, the Secretary recognized the region’s exemplary actions and unwavering dedication in completing the payouts on the Social Amelioration Program, the Bayanihan 2-Emergency Subsidy Program, and the Livelihood Assistance Grants. “I offer my congratulations to DSWD Field Office 8, for completing the delivery of the Social Amelioration Program as of June 30, 2021” the Secretary added.
The OIC Regional Director Grace Subong accepted the Certificate of Recognition in a meeting held last July 12, 2021. She thanked all the SAP task force at all levels, the RIATF, especially the partner LGUs for the dedication, patience, and untiring support to the program. “We are overjoyed that finally, we have concluded the Bayanihan 1 & 2 implementation. We have witnessed the commitment to the work of all the staff by thinking outside the box, for facing and finding solutions to the challenges especially during the times when situations are out of control. This will not be possible without the teamwork, sustained collaboration, and systems installed to ensure that we can make it together.”
She also said that while the new normal is tricky, the agency has learned how to adapt and cope up with the inevitable changes. She also shared this accomplishment with the former Regional Director Marie Angela Gopalan who was with the team last year and patiently helped come up with ideas in dealing with the challenges of the region.

These areas include identified barangays, blocks, purok, sitio, residential buildings, or houses as critical zones by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), with concurrence from the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF).
