The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through its KALAHI-CIDSS program, and the Local Government Unit of Pambujan, Northern Samar responded to the effects of unemployment and loss of income brought by the pandemic by implementing a cash-for-work program.
Pambujan’s cash-for work project focuses on the communal gardening. It is currently being implemented in Barangay Poblacion-8 of the said town. Communal gardening was identified by the community to ensure food security during the pandemic.
40 workers will benefit from the cash-for-work project, with a total fund amount of Php 141,400.00.
The cash-for-work project in Pambujan, Northern Samar is implemented through the KALAHI-CIDSS Disaster Response Operations Modality (DROM). Under DROM, all community-identified projects aim to address the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as mitigate disasters and other shocks.
