The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII recently awarded a centenarian cash gift amounting to Php 100,000.00 to Lola Felisa, in Silago, Southern Leyte.
DSWD represented by Menchie Homeres, a Centenarian program staff, personally delivered the incentive to the house of Lola Felisa. Meanwhile, Local Government Unit (LGU) Silago, headed by Municipal Mayor Lemuel P.Mayor, also witnessed the awarding activity.
Further, LGU awarded another Php 100,000.00 to the recipient. Lola Felisa received a total amount of Php 200,000.00.
Lola Felisa is said to be the first recorded centenarian in the municipality.
