The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Eastern Visayas joined the Interagency Convergence Meeting and Press Conference spearheaded by the Department of Education (DepED) Region VIII in line with the joint Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela 2022 at DepEd RELC NEAO Training Hall I, last August 12, 2022.

DSWD Regional Director Grace Subong shared the agency’s pledge of taking part in the inclusive goal of promoting the right of every Filipino, specially the vulnerable sectors, to quality, equitable, culture-based, and complete basic education, through its various programs and social services including the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Republic Act No. 11310 or the 4Ps Law is a national poverty reduction strategy and human capital investment program of the government which provides conditional cash grants to qualified indigent families for a maximum of seven years for the education, health, and nutrition of their children aged 0-18 and provides support to the latter so they can reach a self-sufficient level of wellbeing.

DepED Regional Director Evelyn Fetalvero expressed her gratitude to all agencies, organizations, and stakeholders for their convergence initiatives.
