Five (5) Sustainable Livelihood Associations (SLPAs) from the Province of Samar participated in the People’s Caravan: Serbisyong Dala ay Pag-asa, initiated by the National Housing Authority-Region VIII, held in Basey, Samar, today, July 25, 2024.
SLPAs from Sta. Rita, Samar, namely the Sta. Elena SLPA with their egg products and the Old Manunca Expert SLPA with their vegetable products were displayed in the said caravan. Meanwhile, SLPAs from Basey, Samar, the Basey Delicacy Making SLPA, and the Lilia Gravoso SLPA also exhibited their delicacy products (moron and suman) and root crop chip products, respectively. Further, the Banwa Association and their locally made Tikog products were also showcased in the event.
The NHA-RO VIII’s People’s Caravan aims to bring all possible social services closer to marginalized communities and promote awareness of the programs and services being offered by various government agencies, especially those with income-generating opportunities and employment.
