Four (4) DSWD FO VIII Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs)/Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Farmers, caps a 14-week season-long training led by the SM Foundation, Inc. (SMFI) Outreach Program last August 30 and Sept. 6, 2024, in Ormoc City and Calbiga, Samar, respectively.

SLPAs/KSK Farmers from Batch 316- Cabintan Farmers Association, Batch 317- Camp Downes Home-based Women’s SLP Association, Batch 318- Veggie Vista Company SLPA, and Batch 319- Uni-farm SLPA successfully completed a program that incorporated the 14 Business Principles of Mr. Henry Sy, Sr., combining comprehensive lectures and hands-on sessions that equip them with the knowledge and skills needed for safe and sustainable crop and vegetable production, both at the demo site and in their own backyards.

Further, the DSWD Field Office VIII- Sustainable Livelihood Program also provided trainings and Seed Capital fund for the said SLPAs/KSK Farmers.

The event was attended by partner agencies, including the DA, DTI, DOST, DOLE, TESDA, Camp Downes Elementary School, LGU Ormoc, SM Center Ormoc, and SM Markets for the ceremony in Ormoc City and the DA and LGU Calbiga for the ceremony conducted in Calbiga, Samar.
