The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office-8, through the Risk Resiliency Program – Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RRP-CCAM), recently conducted preparatory consultations and orientations on the implementation of PROJECT LAWA AT BINHI in San Jose De Buan, Samar, Lapinig, Northern Samar, and Anahawan, Southern Leyte, simultaneously.
The primary objective of the meetings was to inform partner LGUs of the project’s goals and objectives, their roles and responsibilities, and the entire process of sustaining the project.
RRP-CCAM staff also provided technical assistance in preparing documentary requirements and outlining the beneficiaries’ counterpart contributions for the project’s successful execution. The orientation highlighted the creation of agreements and innovative ideas to enhance the project’s progress.
PROJECT LAWA AT BINHI is a DSWD initiative aimed at building climate- and disaster-resilient communities through the construction of water reservoirs to address the challenges of dry spells and ensure food security.
