LOOK: DSWD Regional Director Grace Subong served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the 2025 National Women’s Month Celebration kickoff ceremony of the Police Regional Office 8, at the PRO 8 Multipurpose Hall on 3 March 2025.
In her speech, Dir. Subong recognized how the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Philippine National Police (PNP) shared a common goal in giving importance to caring for those in need, with compassion. “The PNP and the DSWD have a relationship, as PNP is not just Philippine National Police but ‘Pulis Na may Puso,'” she said, rephrasing the acronym for the PNP.
Dir. Subong acknowledged the need for interagency collaboration to allow holistic approach towards a vision wherein gender equality and women’s empowerment is achieved.
During the activity, the Philippine National Police led by Police Brigadier General Jay R Cumigad, also provided assistance and hygiene kits to 10 policewomen and Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP) who are confronted with health concerns.
