The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 8 and the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Office 8 partnered in the Specialized Course on the Investigation of Crimes Involving Women and their Children.
As part of this initiative, DSWD provided discussions on the Vulnerabilities of Diverse Groups such as Indigenous Women and Children, Persons with Disability and Persons of Diverse SOGIE, emphasizing the need for inclusive, gender-sensitive, and child-friendly approaches in handling cases of abuse, violence, and discrimination. This partnership aims to enhance the capabilities of Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) officers, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective and compassionate interventions for victims and survivors.
Through sustained collaboration with law enforcement agencies, DSWD reaffirms its commitment to promoting the rights and welfare of women and children and fostering a justice system that is responsive, inclusive, and protective of the vulnerable sectors.
