Tacloban City, March 28, 2025 – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII, through its Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), actively participated in the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Mega Job Fair held at the Tacloban City Convention Center. The event provided a crucial platform for 668 4Ps beneficiaries to explore diverse employment opportunities offered by participating employers.
Notably, eleven (11) beneficiaries were successfully hired on the spot, with ongoing recruitment efforts promising further placements.
In addition to facilitating job access, the 4Ps program leveraged the event to reinforce its Tamang Tulong sa Tamang Impormasyon (3TIs) campaign against the dissemination of misinformation; directly addressing the issue of “fake news” among beneficiaries.
This initiative underscores the program’s commitment to strengthening advocacy and partnerships aimed at safeguarding the welfare of its beneficiaries and breaking the intergenerational cycle of poverty within Eastern Visayas.
