LOOK: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII – Eastern Visayas continues its close monitoring of Project LAWA (Local Adaptation to Water Access) and Project BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) in Dolores, Eastern Samar, through a recent field visit by the technical staff of the Risk Resiliency Program for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RRP-CCAM).

During the visit, the DSWD FO-8 team witnessed the bayanihan spirit of partner-beneficiaries from Brgy. Aroganga as they worked together to expand a tilapia fish pond—an inspiring display of community commitment to the program’s goals.

Moreover, a total of 300 partner-beneficiaries are now actively involved in implementing Project LAWA at BINHI initiatives, including the cultivation of vegetable gardens. These efforts not only enhance food security but also create opportunities for additional income, helping communities build resilience in the face of climate-related challenges. This activity reaffirms the agency’s continued commitment to ensuring the long-term sustainability and impact of Projects LAWA and BINHI across Eastern Visayas.
