A total of 139 kilos of pechay were harvested through the Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished (Project LAWA at BINHI) in Barangays Maliwaliw and Napara-an from April until May 6.
The beneficiaries harvested 20 kilos of pechay in Barangay Maliwaliw and 119 kilos in Barangay Napara-an, valued at approximately P7,149. These were either sold or consumed by beneficiaries, helping them meet their daily needs.
Encouraged by the project’s success, the partner-beneficiaries now plan to sustain and further develop their community gardens.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit, continues to monitor project sustainability. The teams assess program effectiveness to help beneficiaries sustain and improve their livelihoods.
