The implementation of the Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished (Project LAWA at BINHI), in convergence with the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced workers (TUPAD) continues to grow as it expands to more local government units in Eastern Visayas.
On May 21, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 8 – Eastern Visayas, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – North Leyte Field Office, held a coordination meeting with the local government of MacArthur, Leyte to discuss the implementation of the program in the area. The initiative aims to strengthen food and water security while providing temporary employment and livelihood support to vulnerable sectors.
Around 300 beneficiaries are expected to benefit from the program’s rollout in MacArthur. Present during the meeting were Hon. Rudin Babante, Municipal Mayor of MacArthur, along with the staff of the local government who will lead the program’s implementation.
