A total of 11,592 beneficiaries of Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program (TBTP) in Eastern Visayas has officially completed the 20-day learning sessions last week.

In the region, the department has deployed a total 1,512 college students as tutors and Youth Development Workers (YDWs) tasked to carry out reading tutorials to 5,040 learners and Nanay-Tatay sessions 5,040 parents and guardians, respectively.

To wrap the 20-day sessions that started on May 19, 2025, student-beneficiaries and TBTP community coordinators conducted Culminating activities in their assigned elementary schools.

With the success of the 2025 expansion, the DSWD recognizes the significant contributions of all involved stakeholders from the Department of Education, local government units, and partner state universities and colleges namely Northwest Samar State University, Samar State University, Leyte Normal University, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) Main Campus, EVSU Ormoc Campus, and City College of Ormoc.
