NORTHERN SAMAR : FIRST TO TAKE OFF IN DSWD-TESDA CASH-FOR-TRAINING IN REGION EIGHT

TESDA Regional Director Cleta Omega (second from L), Northern Samar Provincial Governor Paul Daza (third from L) and DSWD Assistant Regional Director for Administration, Virginia Idano (in red) and other officials, help distribute the training vouchers to the youths involved in the program.The province of Northern Samar this week formally took off its partnership with the DSWD and the Technical Services Development Authority (TESDA), in the implementation of the Cash-for-Training Program (C4TP) for Youth in the locality. This makes Northern Samar as the first province in the region to launch this national scholarship program, which is implemented by way of a training package for the needy youth.

NHTS-PR shares data to some LGUs in EV

The data from the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) is now accessible to 60 local government units in Eastern Visayas. This was made possible soon after the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for data sharing was signed between the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Juliano-Soliman and the Local Chief Executives of the LGUs.

MORE THAN PHP26 M IN SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM FUNDS RELEASED FOR REGION VIII IN 2012
