DSWD Otso and LGH Int’l to assist 4Ps recipients interested in working abroad

Badjao community receives shelter assistance

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII Assistant Regional Director for Administration Marlene Kahano attended the recent Turn-over of Funds for Shelter Assistance to Badjao Indigenous Peoples affected by typhoon Yolanda in the municipality of Isabel, Leyte.

Cabucgayan fishermen receive new fishing equipment

 

After years of stressing their muscles in  paddling their boats, some 150 fishermen in Cabucgayan, Biliran received new fish nets and fiber glass fishing motorboats last June 23, 2017.

Through the convergence of the DSWD, DOLE, DOST, and BFAR,  these fishermen can now earn more income in a much convenient way.

Pastrana farmers receive bulgarian buffaloes for dairy production enterprise

Some 52 farmers were awarded 10 dairy Bulgarian buffaloes for a dairy production enterprise from the DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program during the turn – over ceremony last June 23, 2017 at the Visayas State University (VSU) in Baybay, Leyte.

Bereaved families of the 6.5 magnitude earthquake casualties received assistance from DSWD

 

 

 

Earlier, DSWD provided burial assistance to bereaved families with total amount of Php71,000.00, plus a cash assistance of Php5,000.00 to the family of Gerry Movilla, a DSWD-SLP security guard trainee who died in the collapsed building in Kananga.

To date, 3 dead persons were reported. This is based on recent report of the DSWD FO8.
