DSWD celebrates Children’s Month this October
The DSWD Field Office Eight is currently holding a series of activities to mark the National Children’s Month this October, which is anchored on this year’s theme, “Bata Kasali Ka, Ikaw ay Mahalaga.” To open the month-long observance was an awareness walk that was participated in by both public and private sectors, to include international non-government organizations operating within the region since the onslaught of Yolanda.

The DSWD Field Office Eight headed by Regional Director Nestor Ramos is now pre-positioning some 60, 000 family food packs at its warehouse should local government units (LGUs) need augmentation in case of a disaster. He explained that per order of the DSWD Central Office, there should have at least 30, 000 family packs pre-positioned at the agency’s warehouse, especially with typhoon months around.

KC-JFPR awards three classrooms to Bislig Community
Bislig, Tanauan, Leyte, October 2, 2014 – Two units of elementary school buildings, one with one classroom and the other with two classrooms, were reconstructed and turned over by DSWD Kalahi CIDDS – JFPR to the Bislig Elementary School of this municipality.
