DSWD Sec Dinky Soliman, WBG President Jim Yon Kim, Netherlands Foreign Trade and Dev’t Cooperation Minister Ploumen and party visit the Kalahi CIDDS- National Community-Driven Development Program (NCDDP) built school in Bislig, Tanauan Leyte. They also went into a Grade IV classroom where Sec Dinky asked the graders whether they knew what the World Bank was and where theNetherlands was located. The children answered in the negative, so the DSWD Secretary explained to them that the World Bank was a big bank of countries around the world and that the Netherlands was a country in Europewhich cared for them. WBG Pres. Kim urged the children to “study as hard as you can. You never know what the future holds for you. You can even be the president of the World Bank.” He also told them that he came from a very poor country in Korea and didn’t know what he would become when he was in Grade 4. He just studied hard.
