As of today, July 25, the Southwest Monsoon continuously affecting Eastern Visayas has affected 84 families (an estimate of 336 individuals) in Ormoc City.
Also, based on reports received, the weather disturbance has resulted to 13 totally damaged and 71 partially damaged houses.
In response to this, DSWD has already made several preparations. DSWD staff, including the members of the Quick Response Team (QRT) and the Disaster Response Management Division, have been alerted and are ready to render 24/7 duty in case the need arises. The Regional Resource Operations Section (RROS) has also been alerted and are standing by to dispatch food and non-food items upon request of the LGU.
Currently, the LGU of Ormoc City has provided family food packs and bottled water to the families affected by this weather disturbance.
