Mamawa families of Brgy.Caucab (Sitio Palayan) of Almeria in Biliran actively participated in the Organizational Development and Management (ODM) training on April 10-12, 2019 held at Elementary School Sitio Palayan , Caucab, Biliran.

The three-day training was provided by the DSWD Kalahi CIDSS which takes part of their sub-project Community-based Forest Management (CBFM) agreement – A land tenure instrument for Mamanwa tribe : Indigenous People.


The training has an aim to strengthen the operation and maintenance of their sub project but still considering the existing Mamanwa’s institutional structures, customs and practices. This is to ensure the preservation of their rights while relatively promoting self-sufficient community through the sub-project. Also discussed in the training was the Planning and Financial Management wherein the beneficiaries learn how to handle their income once they have established their livelihood.

The said sub-project is in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office. (DENR-PENRO). However, DSWD Kalahi CIDSS funded the processing of tenural instrument with a total amount of Php 380,632.00 and will be implemented through the program.
