DSWD Field Office VIII recently participated in the People’s Day Caravan in Dulag, Leyte, specially highlighting its Protective Programs – Adoption, Foster Care, Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens, Recovery and Reintegration Program for Trafficked Persons (RRPTP), Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP), among others. Also featured were the Promotive Programs – the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Programs (Pantawid Pamilya), and Kapit Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS).

DSWD VIII, now under the leadership of Regional Director, Marie Angela Gopalan, has already participated in two information caravans and conducted its own caravan in the region for this year.

This is with the hope of bringing the agency’s programs and services closer to the people.#
