Home for Girls ensures the safety of residents in this pandemic
Speaking during the Usapang May Malasakit radio program over Lamrag Radio, Home for Girls Head, Delia Aguirre, assures the safety of 33 girls currently under the care of the said facility.
Aguirre disclosed that aside from the weekly disinfection and adherence to health protocols, the DSWD – run center has come up with new policies if only to ensure the utmost protection for the girls temporarily seeking refuge.
She told that they disallow visits of minor’s families to the center but the girls can call home on weekends, with supervision from the staff. Also, the minor-residents will soon be attending the modular type of learning, right at the center.
The Home for Girls, though, still accepts referrals of sexually abused and exploited children from high-risk areas. However, these new cases need to undergo a rapid test and will have to be accommodated in the Center’s isolation area.
