DSWD-Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Leyte 1 Cluster team conducted validation and eligibility assessment to 452 Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) who requested for livelihood intervention from the agency. The clients were referred to DSWD-SLP by PWD association officers in Alang-alang, Leyte.

The SLP provincial team visited 25 barangays to conduct the profile validation and livelihood assessment of the 452 PWDs. The team rendered overtime during the weekend to complete the assessment immediately.

SLP-Special Project Focal Adam Stephen Baldota said that some clients who did not qualify based on the SLP’s eligibility criteria were referred to DSWD-Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS), LGU Alang-alang, or other agencies for provision of appropriate assistance.
Meanwhile, those who qualified for the SLP intervention will have to undergo social preparation and capacity-building activities before they receive their requested livelihood assistance. The livelihood intervention will be granted upon availability of funds.
