As part of its continued monitoring for tropical storm Dante, DSWD Eastern Visayas, in partnership with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and the Philippine Air Force recently conducted an aerial survey in Southern Leyte. During the aerial survey, the partner agencies assessed the damage caused by the storm. 

Through cooperation with partner agencies , DSWD was able to gather data from affected municipalities. Based on reports received as of June 5, a total of 11,914 families from 14 municipalities in the Region have been affected. 

Meanwhile, DSWD has received a request for augmentation from Maasin City, one of the most heavily-affected LGUs during the storm. DSWD is now preparing 1,036 Family Food Packs (FFPs) for the city, based on the assessment done on-the-ground. These FFPs will be transported to the city anytime this week.
