Ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Eastern Visayas, sa maigting na pakikipagtulungan sa mga Local Government Units (LGUs), ay patuloy ang pamamahagi ng social pension grants o ayuda para sa taong 2019, 2020, at 2021.
Noong nakaraang taon, sa pamamagitan sa pag-apruba at pagpapatupad ng Bayanihan 1 at 2, pinahintulutan ang DSWD Field Office VIII na maglipat ng pondo o transfer of funds sa 125 LGUs para sa maipamahagi ang grants ng taong 2020.
Dagdag nito, natapos nang naipamahagi ng 125 LGUs ang grant o ayudang ito sa mga benepisyaryo.
Gayunpaman, ayon kay Mavis Baoy, social pension focal ng ahensya, para sa taong 2021, ang DSWD, sa pamamagitan ng mga special disbursing officer (SDO), ang siyang direktang mamamahagi ng ayuda sa mga hindi nabayaran na benepisyaryo ng taong 2019, 2020 at 2021.
Patuloy na nakikipagtulungan ang DSWD sa mga LGU para sa mahusay at ligtas na pamamahagi ng pinansyal na tulong sa ilalim ng Social Pension, lalo na sa gitna ng pandemyang nararanasan.
Samantala, ang mga iskedyul o talakdaan ng pamamahagi ay naka-depende sa ipinapatupad na community quarantine protocols ng bawat lokal na pamunuan.
Binigyang diin ng DSWD na alinsunod sa batas (RA 9994), ang mga nakatatandang karapat-dapat makatanggap ng social pension ay ang mga mahina, may karamdaman, o may kapansanan; walang regular na suporta mula sa kanilang mga pamilya at kamag-anak; hindi pagtanggap ng pensiyon mula sa ibang mga ahensya ng gobyerno, at walang buwanang kita.
DSWD E.VISAYAS CONTINUES PAYOUT FOR INDIGENT SENIOR CITIZENS
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Eastern Visayas, in sustained coordination with the Local Government Units (LGUs), continues the distribution of social pension grants for the years 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Last year, through the approval and implementation of Bayanihan 1 and 2, the DSWD Field Office VIII was permitted to facilitate the transfer of funds to 125 LGUs for the stipend of the year 2020. Further, these 125 LGUs have already distributed the grants to social pension beneficiaries.
However, according to Mavis Baoy, the agency’s social pension focal, for this year 2021, the DSWD, through its special disbursing officers (SDOs), will do the direct cash payout to the remaining unpaid validated social pensioners for 2019, 2020 and 2021.
DSWD ensures to coordinate closely with LGUs for the efficient and safe distribution of grants, most especially amidst this pandemic.
Meanwhile, distribution schedules depend due to the community quarantine protocols and restrictions imposed in every local government unit.
DSWD emphasizes that according to the law (RA 9994), seniors eligible to receive social pension are those who are frail, sickly, or with a disability; no regular support from their families and relatives; not receiving a pension from other government agencies, and no monthly income.
