DSWD Eastern Visayas joins the National Nutrition Council in commemorating the 47th Nutrition Month, with the theme “Malnutrisyon, Patuloy na Labanan, First 1,000 Days, Tutukan!”. This year’s celebration aims to focus on the first 1,000 days of a child’s life as the most critical time in fighting malnutrition.

DSWD staff from the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) participated in the celebration through a motorcade from Palo to Tacloban City, and a malunggay-tree planting activity.

Meanwhile, DSWD continues its coordination with the Local Government Units in the implementation of the SFP, which aims to provide either hot meals or alternative meals to children in Child Development Centers aged two to five years old.
