The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VIII has inaugurated four Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) in Tabango, Leyte yesterday, February 13, 2024.

The inaugurated projects include Bangus Production by the Kawayan Fisherfolks Association in Barangay Sta. Rosa, Broiler and Vegetable Production by the Omaganhan Farmer’s Integrated Livelihood Association in Barangay Omaganhan, Goat and Vegetable Production by the Magtinabangay Association in Barangay Gimarco, and Broiler and Vegetable Production by the Kalambuan SLP Association in Barangay Gibacungan.

The successful implementation of these projects was attributed to the collaborative efforts between DSWD and the Local Government Unit of Tabango, Leyte.

The Sustainable Livelihood Program is a livelihood capability-building program for the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized households and communities, to help improve their socio-economic conditions through accessing and acquiring necessary assets to engage in and maintain thriving livelihoods. 🌱
