The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VIII has teamed up with the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office VIII to explore future collaborations aimed at improving the lives of poor and vulnerable families in the region.

In a recent coordination meeting, DSWD discussed the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) and its 5-Year Sustainability Plan, identifying potential areas of collaboration with DOST. The discussion also covered Project LAWA (Local Adaptation and Water Access) and BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished), focusing on strategies to enhance project execution and secure necessary support, particularly in the third stage of implementation, which is the sustainability strategy.

The ongoing coordination with various partners aims to ensure the effective implementation of DSWD programs and projects, specially the newly launched initiative designed to help poor and vulnerable families adapt to the impacts of climate change.
