The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) supports the celebration of the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 in fostering climate action and community participation through its Project LAWA (Local Adaptation to Water Access) and BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished).

Initiated by the United Nations (UN), the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 is observed every 15th of May to promote awareness and disseminate knowledge about societal factors that affect families.

This year’s theme, “Families and Climate Change,” aims to raise awareness of how climate change impacts families and the role of families in climate action.
