Lolo Floro Meregildo has certainly taken this saying to heart as he dances the cha-cha in celebration of Bobon’s 155th founding anniversary. However, tonight, he is also celebrating more than a hundred years of life.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development, under the leadership of Regional Director Restituto Macuto, recently awarded a check worth P100,000 to Lolo Floro during the founding anniversary at Bobon, Northern Samar. He is now 104 years old.

This award is given to anyone who reaches a hundred years old, to recognize this extraordinary achievement and as an incentive for others to live a healthy lifestyle.

According to Lolo Floro, there’s really no big secret to long life, just eat a lot of vegetables. Also, he rarely consumes meat and coconut wine (tuba).
