𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII, in collaboration with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Leyte, Leyte, has facilitated the creation and election of the Federation of Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations, held at LGU Leyte Conference Hall on 18 March 2024. Nineteen (19) SLPA presidents participated in the activity. The induction ceremony for the newly elected officers of the federation is on March 25, 2024. DSWD FO VIII Nakapamahagi ng P337M na ECT sa Northern Samar
Matagumpay ang DSWD Field Office VIII na nakapamahagi ng P337,342,720 sa mga isinagawang payout ng Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) sa probinsya ng Nortehrn Samar. Nakapamahagi ang ahensya nitong ayuda sa 110,968 na mga kwalipikadong benepisaryo mula sa 21 na mga munisipiyo. Kasama dito ang Allen, Bobon, Capul, Catarman, Catubig, Gamay, Laoang, Lapinig, Las Navas, Lavezares, Lope de Vega, Mapanas, Mondragon, Palapag, Pambujan, Rosario, San Jose, San Isidro, San Roque, San Vicente, at Silvino Lobos. Ang ECT ay pinansyal na tulong para sa mga pamilyang naapektuhan ng pagbaha na dulot ng shearline noong Nobyembre. DSWD SLPAs Participate in Relaunching of Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) Initiative
Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) in Eastern Samar participated in the relaunching of the Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) initiative, held from March 11 to 15, 2024, at the Guiuan Public Plaza in Guiuan, Eastern Samar. The event, which coincided with the Panagtawo Trade Fair, commemorating the 503rd Anniversary of the Circumnavigation of Magellan to the World, is a significant milestone in advancing agricultural development and food security in Eastern Samar. The KNP forms part of the government’s strategy to ensure stable food supply as it enables farmers to sell directly to consumers by removing market layers. DSWD Field Office VIII nakiisa sa Bida Ka: Fire Square Roadshow ng BFP
Bilang pagdiriwang sa Fire Prevention Month ngayong taon, nakiisa ang DSWD sa isinagawang Fire Square Road Show ng Bureau of Fire Protection Regional Office 8 (BFP RO8). Nakaangkla sa temang, “Sa Pag-Iwas sa Sunog, Hindi ka Nag-iisa,” ibinida ng ahensya ang papel nito sa disaster response at early recovery, pati na rin ang iba pang programa na nakatuon sa pagpapaunlad ng lipunan. DSWD FO VIII Nagsagawa ng RRP-CCAM Cash For Work sa Allen
Matagumpay na isinagawa ng DSWD Field Office VIII ang payout ng Risk Resiliency Program – Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RRP-CCAM) sa Allen, Northern Samar. Sa pangunguna ni Regional Director Grace Q. Subong, mahigit 900 na benepisyaryo ang nakatanggap ng P3,750.00 para sa kanilang sampung araw na pagtatrabaho sa Cash-For-Work program. Ilan sa mga ginawa ng mga benepisyaryo ay ang tree planting, gardening at bamboo propagation. Patuloy naman ang ahensya sa pagsasagawa ng ganitong mga inisyatibo na naglalayong maibsan ang epekto ng climate change. Inaasahan ang implementasyon ng iba’t ibang proyekto sa ilalim ng RRP-CCAM ngayong taon, na magbibigay tulong sa mas marami pang benepisaryo. #BawatBuhayMahalagaSaDSWD
DSWD Awards Livelihood Grants to Associations in Tabango, Villaba, Leyte
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII, through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), has awarded seed capital fund amounting to Php 1,200,000.00 to boost the livelihood initiatives of two associations in Leyte province on 15 March 2024. The beneficiaries are the SBPWM Agriculture Cooperative of Brgy. Suba, Villaba, Leyte, and the SBPWM Agriculture Cooperative of Tabango, Leyte. Each association received Php 600,000.00 to support their respective livelihood projects. The SBPWM Agriculture Cooperative of Brgy. Suba, Villaba, Leyte, will use the funds for their General Merchandise and Fishing Supplies Project, while the SBPWM Agriculture Cooperative of Tabango, Leyte, plans to establish a Sari-sari Store and engage in Feed Retailing. The seed capital fund is a form of financial assistance, which is intended for the procurement of raw materials, small tools, and common service facilities necessary to establish enterprise. Key stakeholders attended the activity which includes Vince Villanueva and Agripino Tingog, Municipal Social Welfare Officer Ma.
