Palo Mayor Matin Petilla (3rd from left), Netherlands Minister Ploumen, WB President JYK and Leyte Gov. Dominic Petilla as DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman requested for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries for storyteller – volunteers to share their personal Yolanda/Haiyan stories. During this particular forum when WBG Pres. Kim was asked to speak, he solicited opinions from the Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries on what ‘build back better’ means for them. They answered him, “ To have a roof over heads and to have our houses fixed.” They also thanked WBG Pres. JYK, for his visit. Minister Ploumen, on the other hand, told everyone how worried her countrymen were for the Filipino people who were affected by Haiyan’s wrath. She thanked the Pantawid beneficiaries for sharing their stories and lauded them for being able to ‘pick up their lives’ despite the difficult circumstances. Minister Lilianne Ploumen further added, “We are happy to be of assistance to all you.”
