DSWD staff welcomed returning Locally-Stranded Individuals (LSIs) from the National Capital Region (NCR) who recently disembarked at the Tacloban City Port. And together with this welcome, DSWD also distributed Family Food Packs (FFPs) to these 50 LSIs – two from Northern Samar, four from Samar, five from Biliran, 12 from Southern Leyte, 27 from Leyte.

As head of the Food and Non-food Items (FNFI) cluster of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, DSWD continues to accomplish its task of providing relief items to families affected by disasters. Recently, DSWD was active in providing relief assistance to returning LSIs and barangays under lockdown due to COVID-19, as well as stockpiling relief items as a preparation for the stormy season.

Each FFP contains six kilos of rice, six sachets of coffee, cereal drink and assorted canned goods such as corned beef, meat or beef loaf, tuna flakes and/or sardines. Each FFP is enough for two to three days for a family of five. These relief items are not for sale.
