The Department of Social Welfare and Development, through its poverty-alleviation program Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS), turned over the communication equipment to Barangay Tabunan North, Kawayan Biliran on October 21 this year.

The community identified communication equipment as their project under the program, as their Public Address System. This is for use of disseminating timely and correct information to the community about the pandemic; to keep the public abreast about COVID updates and protocols; and to strengthen communication among the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) especially when Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) coming and on quarantine.

It will also be a great help as a means to disseminate information for preparedness and response in times of calamities and other disasters.

During the ceremony, Barangay Captain Bernadette Asubar emphasized the importance of communication equipment at this time of pandemic. She appreciated the process the communities went through for the realization of the project.

This community project was made possible through the collaboration of the Kalahi community volunteers with the support of the barangay and Local Government Unit (LGU).
