DSWD recently distributed Family Food Packs (FFPs) to 30 families with partially and totally damaged houses in Brgy. Progress in the island municipality of Biri, Northern Samar.

Through its partnership with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), and the Philippine Air Force (PAF), DSWD was able to transport these relief items by air to the said locality.

Over-all, DSWD provided 30 FFPs, each one containing six kilos of rice, 10 assorted canned goods, five sachets coffee, five sachets cereal drink. Meanwhile, OCD provided 30 hygiene kits.

These items are not for sale, and are available upon request of the LGUs, as part of the augmentation role of the DSWD.

Through partnership with OCD and the academe, DSWD was able to preposition its relief items in strategic areas of the region in case help is needed by the local government units.
