The Department of Social Welfare and Development through its Kapit-Bisig Laban Sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) program ensures to improve its implementation of basic social services to its covered communities by conducting series of activities, training, and workshops for local leaders and community volunteers.

One of the activities currently conducted by the DSWD Kalahi-CIDSS program is the Municipal Sustainability Planning Workshop

This activity aims to have the local government units discussed with the community volunteers, the program implementers, their valuable experiences, and lessons attained during the implementation of the Kalahi-CIDSS program in their municipalities. Their experiences and lessons will serve as springboard to implement the CDD program more effectively in the coming years.

This activity also aims for local leaders and community volunteers to discuss long-term plans to ensure sustainability and serviceability of the completed projects.

DSWD Kalahi-CIDSS in Eastern Visayas has implemented 244 projects in its 26 covered municipalities this year. Most of the projects are isolation and quarantine facilities, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), medical supplies and amenities, etc. used by the medical frontliners, Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs), identified and confirmed COVID cases. On the other hand, DSWD introduced the cash-for-work scheme for food production projects or communal gardens implemented by some local communities of the region.
