DSWD Field Office VIII grabbed two prestigious spots for the national finalists to the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) 2020, a recognition given to the agency’s exemplary workers and teams who have exhibited the DSWD core value, ‘Maagap at Mapagkalingang Serbisyo’.

Natividad Sequito is a finalist for the Best Division Chief category and Febie Palines, for the Best Technical Social Worker category.

Sequito and Palines are both registered Social Workers who translated their profession into a passion for serving the poor and vulnerable sectors in Region VIII for seventeen (17) years.

Under the leadership of Natividad Sequito as an OIC-Division Chief for the Promotive Services Division, she paved the way to establishing a more harmonized, clear, and relevant convergence strategy in the delivery of social protection programs and services among the core programs namely Kalahi-CIDSS, Sustainable Livelihood Program and Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). Her efforts were envisioned a cohesive convergence approach which will lead to systematize the agency’s coordinating mechanisms and integrate convergence in the packaging of interventions to be delivered to target areas.

Febie Palines, on the other hand, is currently the Provincial Link of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino in Eastern Samar wherein she took the lead in formulating initiatives and innovations to enhance systems that give relevant and lasting impact to the implementation of the Pantawid Program in the region.

Sequito and Palines will attend the National-led online PRAISE awards to be held tomorrow, January 29, in light of the current public health and safety situation. PRAISE awards is part of the culminating activity of DSWD 70th anniversary which is anchored on the theme “Kabalikat ng Mahihirap sa Panahon ng Pandemya.” DSWD continues to herald the ‘Angels in Red Vest’ in their noteworthy contributions in helping the local government units and other partner line agencies implement responsive and timely delivery of social welfare and development interventions to the beneficiaries, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
