Leyte-Samar Center for Change Foundation, Inc. was acclaimed the 2020 regional awardee for Salamat Po award for being the best non-government organization partner of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in providing excellent and holistic delivery of programs and services leading to the restoration of social functioning of neglected and abandoned children.

Executive Director Rev. Margaret Ann Pashley and social worker Reneimer Aranzado received the said award during the department’s 70th anniversary awards and culmination ceremony, Friday, March 19, at The Hotel Oriental Leyte, Tacloban City.

Leyte- Samar Center for Change, Inc is the only social development agency that achieved Level 2 accreditation in the year 2020. Level 2 accreditation is given to the social welfare and development agencies which have implemented programs and services according to standards set by the DSWD.

Salamat Po! Award is one of the sub-awards of PaNata Ko (Pagkakilala sa Natatanging Kontribusyon) sa Bayan Awards being conferred to the department’s exemplary partners and stakeholders.

PaNata Ko sa Bayan Awards is an annual recognition given to the individuals, groups, and organizations who have contributed to the realization of the shared vision of protecting the rights and welfare of the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged Filipinos.
