“Among the three core values of the department, Integrity is the most critical. Integrity means being whole and undivided- as Field Office 8, we are always looking at how we can work together as one in serving Region 8.”

This is the message highlighted by the outgoing Regional Director Marie Angela Gopalan in her speech during the turn-over of leadership ceremony on March 22, 2021, at Tacloban City.

During her leadership, Dir. Gopalan focused on internal convergence and external collaboration to achieve the department’s mandates and its service goals efficiently, effectively, and consistently.

Within one year and eight months, Dir. Gopalan was able to guide the field office in redefining systems, tools, and strategies so that DSWD’s mandates are delivered within the context of the region’s current and emerging needs.
