DSWD Field Office 8 (DSWD FO8) stands ready to respond to possible augmentation requests from LGUs as Typhoon “Bising” brings moderate to heavy rains to Eastern Visayas as it moves northwestward over the Philippine Sea.

DSWD FO8 Operations Center monitors the situation on the ground and closely coordinates with the affected local government units.

Meanwhile, three thousand three hundred (3,300) Family Food Packs (FFPs) are prepositioned in strategic locations across the region. Of this number, 800 FFPs are prepositioned in Allen, Northern Samar; 800 in Catarman, Northern Samar; 700 in Can-avid, Eastern Samar; 700 in Borongan City, Eastern Samar; 100 in Naval, Biliran; and 200 in Maasin, Southern Leyte. These are on top of the 11,694 FFPs stored in the Regional Resource Operations Center in Palo, Leyte.

DSWD FO8 under the leadership of Regional Director Grace Subong assures the public its readiness to augment the resources of the LGUs that will be affected by Typhoon “Bising”.
