DSWD Eastern Visayas continues to conduct relief operations in Eastern and Northern Samar provinces in response to requests for assistance from the Local Government Units (LGUs) affected by typhoon Bising.

As of April 23, DSWD has already released a total of 8,207 Family Food Packs (FFPs). Of this number, 2,500 FFPs were delivered to Arteche, 2,000 to Jipapad, 877 to Oras, 923 to Can-avid, 307 to Hernani, in the province of Eastern Samar, while 800 were delivered to Catarman and another 800 to Catubig in Northern Samar. Altogether, DSWD has released aid worth P4,464,033.51. This figure is expected to rise as DSWD continues its efforts to meet the allocated number of FFPs per requesting LGU.

Each FFP contains six kilos of rice, five sachets of coffee, five sachets of energy cereal drink, four cans of corned beef, four cans of tuna flakes and two cans of sardines.
