In Eastern Visayas Region, DSWD Field Office VIII is said to be the first national agency (thru the Social Marketing Section) to conduct a Virtual Town Hall Meeting on COVID-19 Vaccination. Of course, it was a coordinated activity with the Department of Health (DOH) Region VIII.

Maria Rosario Juntilla, Health Education and Promotion Officer III, who represented the DOH, was thankful for having been invited as a resource person to discuss on the safety, efficacy, and side effects of vaccines and other related factual, scientific information. She is hopeful that with the dialogue, DSWD staff will help counter misinformation relative to the vaccination program.

There were 49 attendees to the two-hour virtual town hall meeting held yesterday, March 31. Most of them were field workers from the different provinces (a big part from Pantawid Pamilya Program), while others were staff from four of the agency’s residential care facilities and from the Field Office VIII itself.

Newly-Installed DSWD Regional Director, Grace Subong, meanwhile, pointed out that the intention of the activity was for employees to be well-informed on the program, and to help the national government in making the public understand the value of being vaccinated. She is confident that the agency frontliners, especially, will be able to motivate the various clienteles to avail of the vaccination service.# #DSWDMayMalasakit #DSWDKalingaAtPagmamahal
