DSWD Eastern Visayas recently distributed P3,150,000.00 as it continues its distribution of the Emergency Subsidy to eligible Bayanihan 2 replacement beneficiaries.

These are the replacements of the original beneficiaries who were disqualified, after being found out to be ineligible based on the guidelines.

As of May 12, DSWD has distributed the P5,000 cash assistance to 426 beneficiaries around the Region – 239 in the province of Samar, 85 in Leyte, 58 in Southern Leyte and 44 in Biliran.

Based on the original guidelines of Bayanihan 2, indigent families living in areas placed under granular lockdown are eligible for the Emergency Subsidy. These areas include barangays, blocks, purok, streets, residential buildings or houses which were declared as critical zones by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and with concurrence from the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF).

Currently, these distributions are still ongoing.
