The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VIII won 2 national awards and received 5 special citations during the recently concluded PRAISE Awards or the 2021 Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence Awards last January 21, 2022.
Georgina Bulasa, Social Welfare Officer III bagged the Best Social Worker – Center-Based (Permanent) award while the DRMD’s “Nang Dahil sa Kahon” won the Best Knowledge Management Initiative.
The Field Office VIII also received 5 special citation awards which include the following: Social Marketing Unit (KALAHI-CIDSS) for the Pusong may Patas na Pagtrato sa Komunidad sa Larangan ng Pag-aanunsyo at Pamamahayag, OIC-Regiona Information Officer Abelardo Bibat for the Pusong May Malasakit sa Larangan ng Pampublikong Impormasyon, Rey Penserga of the General Services Section for the Pusong Magiting, Policy and Plans Division Chief Ofelia Pagay for the Pusong Magiting, and the Disaster Response and Management Division for the Pusong Maagap at Mapagkalinga.
Meanwhile, 3 nominations were hailed as national finalists that include the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program for the Best Operations Office category, Social Welfare Officer III Cleo Arante Cairo for the Best Technical Social Worker category, and the OSH KAYA Award Category which focused on the Field Office VIII’s efforts and initiatives on COVID-19 Response and Recovery.
During the regular Monday convocation, Regional Director Grace Subong lauded the field office’s exemplary efforts and thanked all those who have contributed greatly to the achievement of these milestones. She also encouraged everyone to keep performing their best and serve as inspiration in realizing the mandate of DSWD.
The annual PRAISE or Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence recognizes exemplary employees of the department. It is designed to encourage creativity, innovativeness, efficiency, integrity, and productivity in the public service by recognizing and rewarding officials and employees for their contributions to the improvement of government operations.
The said activity is in line with the Department’s 71st Founding Anniversary. The theme of this year’s celebration is “DSWD @ 71 napapanahon na pagtugon sa suliranin ng taong 2022 kabalikat ng katatagan ng bawat Pilipino.”
