DSWD Regional Director Grace Subong disclosed that 7,143 qualified students across the region have received educational assistance from DSWD Field Office VIII amounting to P16.3 million pesos, since the payout begun on August 20, 2022.
The educational assistance could only be availed by qualified students who applied through the online application portal.
As of August 30, there are already 253,461 applications received by DSWD Field Office VIII. All these applications will undergo deduplication process for multiple entries, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and Modified Conditional Cash Transfer.
Meanwhile, Director Subong has recognized the role of partner-agencies and local government units in facilitating the orderly conduct of payout across the region. She also thanked the Philippine Information Agency and local media partners for helping the department in disseminating information to wider audiences especially in hard-to-reach areas.
The payout for the educational assistance will continue every Saturdays until September 24, 2022.
